Over 750 supporters joined us to run, jog and walk the 38th annual Harefield Fun Run, raising more than £43,000.

Supporters had the choice of a 2k, 5k or 10k route around the village of Harefield before dashing across the finish line.

We were delighted to see everyone donning their bright blue t-shirts – chosen especially for the 38th Fun Run! The energetic warm-up was led by fitness enthusiast Nicky Fisher. Even Charity CEO Gill Raikes took part, alongside our Kier mascots, Kieran and Kiera.

Harefield Radio helped kick things off by counting down to the start of the race and provided fantastic music throughout the day. Once runners made their way over the finish line they were presented with a finisher's medal and a goodie bag full of treats courtesy of Grant & Stone, Metro Rod, Sunmaid Raisins, RB&HH, the Kundan Family and Primal Pantry. One Water and ISS generously donated the water for this year's event too.

Post-race, our Family Day was in full swing with arts and crafts stalls, food vans, hair braiding, face-painting and performances by Singing for Breathing and local dance group, Aiming High.

All proceeds from this year’s Fun Run will go towards Transforming Your Care, helping us implement a new electronic observations system at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. The new system will allow nurses to spend more time at a patient's bedside and automatically alerts doctors when intervention is needed.

Winners from last year’s Fun Run were announced on the day:

Professor Magdi Yacoub Shield - awarded to the individual who has raised the most money

Darren Whitney who raised £3,530.00

Re-Beat Club Cup - awarded to the team who has raised the most money
