On a beautifully sunny Friday in June, supporters, patients and staff came together for our Champagne Picnic. £6,260 was raised in total towards the Harefield Transplant Appeal – thank you to everyone who attended and helped us to say, “happy birthday” to our wonderful NHS.

Equipped with picnic blankets, sunnies and sun cream, over 200 guests relaxed in the warm sun (and shade!) whilst listening to Jazz Days, who played a delightful selection of music.

Frances Wakefield who attended with a group of friends said:

“Such a relaxing pleasant day – we’ll be here next year!”

With the help of Deputy Mayor, David Yarrow, the evening drew to a close with everyone raising a glass to the transplant patients in attendance, including a very special group who have been transplanted for over 30 years.

Special thanks go to Sophie Ford & Scrumptious Catering, who kindly supplied the delicious food on the day. Guests delighted at the moreish brownies and tasty sandwiches served with a side of champagne.

Thank you to our other very generous sponsors – Waitrose, Robert Cooper Estate Agents and to our entertainers - Stephen Jones, for providing the magic and Tony Oliver and the Jazz Days. And of course, we are so grateful to our wonderful volunteers without whom the event wouldn't have happened.

Thank you to everyone who came to show their support. By attending, you're helping to ensure that many more people survive heart and lung disease.

Cheers to NHS70!
