We introduce our new #MoreTimeMoreLives ECMO Appeal and share Conor's story, a young paramedic whose life was saved by ECMO - a form of extracorporeal (outside the body) life support.

The incredible Johnny Martin Smith, known for his blog One old man losing his tummy, talks about his fundraising journey and what kept him inspired along the way.

Our two new sections, 'In the Community' and 'Corporate Round-up' give a well-deserved shout out to some local supporters, including Rye St Antony School who took on a school-wide fundraiser in memory of ex-pupil Becca Henderson.

And finally, we reflect on six months of exciting achievements for the Charity with a special focus on a series of projects to support Royal Brompton's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Harefield 4 Mile Fun Run in Aid of Harefield Hospital

On 3rd September, 2004, at the age of 63, my father underwent pioneering heart surgery at Harefield Hospital which saved his life. 20 years on, he will be celebrating his 83rd birthday in mid-September. With the Harefield Fun Run taking place this week, it feels a fitting way to be able to mark this milestone anniversary and to be able to give something back to and raise funds for a hospital which has done so much for my family and I.
