Last Friday, Royal Brompton Hospital welcomed the Guardian newspaper through its doors to capture what life is really like on the paediatric intensive care unit (PICU)

The Trust’s communications team organised the stunning coverage, which included a photo essay as well as live blogging, which comes at a vital time for the unit.

NHS England plans to close congenital heart disease services at Royal Brompton, and if these plans went ahead the PICU would also likely close.   

We of course think this would be a disastrous move that would only serve to inconvenience patients and are fighting these plans wholeheartedly.
