On a perfectly crisp and sunny winter’s Sunday, more than 100 of our brilliant supporters donned their Santa suits and beards with pride and completed the 1.8km route around Ruislip Lido.

The Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor John Hensley, and his wife Diane, started the dash and were on hand at the finish to hand out the medals.

Our stand-out fundraiser this year was Neil Livingstone, who, with his family, raised a huge £7,555. Neil’s wife Naomi was taken seriously ill in October and spent time on the Intensive Care Unit at Harefield. Having seen the Santa Dash advertised around the hospital, Neil and his family decided to get involved and support the hospital to say thank you for the outstanding care Naomi has received on her road to a full recovery.

Nigel Fisher was also among those who raced around the lido. Nigel’s father was cared for at Harefield but sadly passed away earlier this year. He had promised his father that he would make the next 12 months, leading up to Nigel’s 50thbirthday, a time to raise money for Harefield, starting with our Santa Dash. You can read more of Nigel’s story here.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made the day such fun and such a great success. Special thanks to our hardy volunteers who marshalled the route in the chilly weather.
