Thanks to your generosity The Big Give Christmas Challenge was a huge success. In seven days, we raised £40,904, including the pledges and the doubled donations, to help care for patients at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals.

All of us at the Charity and our NHS colleagues at our two hospitals would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who gave to The Big Give Christmas Challenge. Your generosity has been astonishing.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s largest match funding campaign, which means that donations made to us via the Big Give’s website during the challenge were doubled by one of the Big Give’s champions. We would like to thank The Reed Foundation for matching our supporters’ donations.

Gill Raikes, chief executive of Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity, said:

We have been blown away with how our supporters have come together to donate for The Big Give Christmas Challenge. Social distancing and the lockdowns have made fundraising very challenging, but this hasn’t stopped our amazing supporters from rising to this challenge and helping provide our NHS colleagues with the equipment they need.

All the funds raised will be invested in the future of our hospitals by purchasing the latest imaging equipment for our cath labs at both sites. The new, state-of-the-art imaging equipment will provide clinical staff who are performing cath lab procedures with more detailed images of their patients at lower radiation levels.

Thank you to everyone who made a donation to the Big Give Christmas Challenge. Your generosity will make a real difference for staff and patients at both our hospitals.
