The deadline for GDPR is just one week away. If you’re lucky enough not to have heard about GDPR, it’s a regulation on how companies, or charities like ours, can contact people. At our Charity, we’ve done everything we can to keep in contact with our supporters, asking them to ‘opt-in’ and stay in touch with us.

We are trying our hardest to get as many people as possible on board, so we can continue to share our good news, latest appeals, and awesome stories about our hospitals and their patients. Our pioneering campaigns make the impossible, possible – and we’re keen on sharing them as far and wide as we can.

Personally, I’m troubled by GDPR – a law that has come around thanks to reckless, thoughtless and almost aggressive behaviour by establishments and institutions – as it means we could lose contact, and the support of, hundreds of our supporters.

We have wonderful stories to tell. Stories of fantastic bravery on the part of our patients, world-class skill on the part of our clinicians, and amazing care on the part of the staff in our hospitals.

Please, do let us know if you would like to stay in touch. If you’re already a member on our website, simply visit our homepage, log in, and update your preferred contact details. Or, even quicker, click here – and we’ll do the rest.

On a more positive note, the beautiful weather outside is getting us all in the mood for our upcoming Grand Canal Challenge! It’s going to be one of the many highlights of my year – please, do come and join us!

It’s also the perfect weather for the Chelsea Fringe, part of the Chelsea Flower Show week. We’re displaying a fantastic collection of botanical artwork in the beautiful Glasshouse Café, just behind our office on Kings Road.  But don’t only come and see it – come and enjoy an exciting art workshop, such as 'Painting with Prosecco' – so much is going on and it is going to be really good fun! I’ve booked myself in for a session – I come from a very artistic family, but somehow the gene passed me by… I’m hoping for some magic to be found when I turn up! At least there will be a glass of prosecco for me to enjoy at the end if not!

All the funds from these workshops will go towards creating a wonderful garden in the grounds of Harefield Hospital for our patients, visitors and our staff. Read more about the appeal on our website, and book your tickets to the events here.

Have a lovely weekend!
