We are incredibly excited to announce that Katie Price and her mum, Amy, will be our special celebrity guests for the 40th Annual Harefield Fun Run and Family Day on Sunday 10 September.

Amy Price had a lung transplant at Harefield hospital, and the whole Price family will be attending the Fun Run, celebrating Harefield and helping to raise funds for this amazing hospital.

Amy Price suffers from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a condition where the lungs become scarred and breathing becomes increasingly difficult. In 2022, she had a lung transplant at Harefield Hospital and now Katie, Amy and their whole family want to help raise funds for the hospital that cared for their mother and grandmother.

Amy said:

The staff at Harefield Hospital literally saved my life, they have extended my life expectancy so I can continue to watch my grandkids grow, and I am forever indebted to them.

This year it’s the 40th Fun Run and Family Day. The Fun Run began in the 1980s, to encourage transplant patients to be physically active, which helps with their recovery. Now in it’s 40th year, the Fun Run has become the Charity’s biggest fundraising event of the year and is a chance for hundreds of patients, their friends and families to give back to the hospital that cared for them and their loved ones.

This year the Harefield Fun Run will be raising funds for the Harefield Haemodialysis appeal, which will purchase six dialysis machines to help treat some of the most critically ill Harefield patients.

Amy recently nominated the staff who cared for her at Harefield Hospital, for a Sun Who Cares Wins award. She also published a book, The Last Word, about her life, her famous daughter and her struggle with IPF. She is generously donating a share of the proceeds from this book to three charities and so far over £10,000 has been received by Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity, which will go towards research into IPF.

We want to make this an especially big celebration of Harefield Hospital, so come join Katie, Amy and family, with hundreds of friends of Harefield in a day celebrating this amazing hospital and raising funds for Harefield patients. Sign up to the Fun Run now.
