Here at Team Hearts, we are striding forward and determined to give Team Lungs a real run for their efforts in the challenge as part of Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity’s terrific virtual event: Hearts versus Lungs.

In fact, when I started this blog, Team Hearts – my team – were in the lead, but no sooner had I started crowing about our success, when I hear that Team Lungs have over taken us – how can that happen?

Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s some wonderful people in Team Lungs – some of my best friends are in Team Lungs, and that team is led by the fantastic Professor Claire Hogg. But we at Team Hearts have also got some great people and we are led by top mathematician Andy Cavenagh. So, come on team. Best foot forward and let’s show Team Lungs what we are made of.

Why are we doing this? Well very generous people – those of you who are taking part and those of you who are sponsoring – are all helping us to raise funds to buy vital and state-of-the-art equipment for our two world class hospitals – so step out to save lives.

It has been super to see how many of our brave and hardworking NHS colleagues have joined the challenge – great to have you with us.

Are you signed up? Although we are already day 6 days into the Challenge there’s still time to join us. Please go to our Team Heart vs Team Lungs page to join the race. Both teams need all the help they can get. Though naturally, Team Hearts is at the heart of it all!
