I have just sponsored a remarkable woman to do a fantastic challenge. Rhonda Davis, a grandmother from Bushey, is 78 and, to quote her “has more bits of metal inside her than are in her car”, having had two knee replacements, as well as eight stents fitted and a double heart bypass.

This Sunday, she is abseiling 100 metres down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth. You are a star, Rhonda – and your efforts will help families affected by genetic disease be tested and where necessary, diagnosed and treated to avoid tragedy.

You only have to click here to see what this remarkable woman is doing! And if you feel so inclined, why don’t you sponsor her? Rhonda is incredibly brave and determined and the world is a better place because there are people like Rhonda in it.

We are so lucky in this Charity to have hundreds of people who fund raise for our causes. If you are one of them – THANK YOU! You make such a difference.  From walkers and runners, abseilers to cyclists, from art exhibition attendees to jazz bands – your efforts save lives.

Because of people like you, we are so close to our £1.1m target for Harefield’s Intensive CareUnit redevelopment, and scanner centre – isn’t that amazing?

If you want to help us in our final push with a donation, please do and take us right up to the finish.  And do have a look at some of our more recent pictures of the building as it emerges. It’s so very exciting.
